Why does Reader not let me change pages in a pdf by swiping left or right?

I want to use screen swipe left or right to change pages in a pdf.   Reader is only letting me swipe up or down which is not suitable to do when reading sheet music.  Other pdf readers allow me to do this with the same files but I want to use Adobe Reader.

Ok, so it's the Windows Acrobat Reader app. Unfortunately, there are two different ones.

Is this Acrobat Reader DC (with a menu bar at the top, buttons etc.)?

Or Acrobat Reader Touch (nothing but the PDF, full screen)?
