Why doesn't the search function in pdf produce any results at all?

New Here ,

The problem is that I have a book that I purchased it as a pdf file and initially when I wanted to search for a word with the F + CTL function I found matches for the words I was looking for. And recently something has happened and the search brings no results at all, not even a single letter that must be in the document.

And I get the following answer: Adobe Acrobat Readr has finished searching the document. No matches were.

Hey Liora,

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused.

As shared you haven't been able to find any text in the finder. However, you have been able to do that in past. Would you mind confirming couple of things, for us to understand the issue better?

1- Is there any changes that you have applied to your system or installed any latest patch of Adobe Reader?

2- That PDF in which you have been looking for the text, does it have real text or contains images?

3- Did you check with any other document? Does it give the same result?

For testing, you may try the following steps-

1- Open Reader>Help>Check for update DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products

2- Open Reader>Edit>Preferences>Search>enable fast finding and "Purge cache contents">OK

2- Navigate to Reader>Edit>Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected Mode at Startup" and "Enhanced Security">OK>Reboot Reader  now try to search the text again.

Note: Changing the above security settings could pose security risks. We suggest you to turn it back On once you are done with testing.

Let us know if that doesn't make any progress.

Thanks,

Akanchha
