Question

Win 10 Dropped Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from Program List

Possibly as a result of the Fall Creators Update, Reader no longer appears in the program list on my Start button.

Reader is still the default pdf program, and I can add it to the "tiles", but I don't know how to add it back to the list of all installed programs.

I'd appreciate any help.

thanks!

    Hi Ken_Florida,

As you say that "Reader no longer appears in the program list on the start button", please refer the steps mentioned here https://www.windowscentral.com/add-app-shortcuts-start-menu-manually-windows-10

Check if the application shows in the list on the Start button.

If you still experience the issue, try uninstalling the application using the cleaner tool Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Then re-install the application from here Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Let us know if that helps.

Feel free to update the thread if you need any help.

    Regards,

    Meenakshi

    Hi Meenakshi,

Thanks very much for the helpful response. I tried adding the shortcut to the Start menu per your suggested first step. That added Reader to the tiles but not to the program list.

I'll try the cleaner tool uninstall then reinstall. I had some problems with that early on in Windows 10, so I'll probably save that process until later. In the meantime, I've pinned Reader to my task bar. That gives me a couple of easy ways to start the program, in addition to clicking on a pdf file.

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Ken

    Hi Ken,

Sure, please try the uninstalling and re-installing. Check if that makes any difference.

Let us know if the option still not appear in the Start menu.
