windows application error whenever .PDF files opened

New Here ,
Jan 10, 2017 Jan 10, 2017

For no reason at all, I have started getting the following error message:

Windows Application error. The exception unknown software exception (0xc000040) occurred in the application at location 0x011e5d2e - click OK to terminate

everytime I open a .pdf file. However the file still opens anyway, and I can print it out happily as long as I don't click OK to terminate the program. A real nuisance - why is it happening and how do I stop it please? Running Windows 7 on a PC, no recent changes to cause this to happen.

Hi paul67575408,

Can you please let me know the exact product and version number of your Adobe product.

To find the version:

Launch Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader -> Goto Help and select About Adobe Acrobat or Reader... and view the version number on window which occurs.

Thanks,

Shakti K
