Hi!

I work a lot with PowerPoint and most of my work is converted into PDF files.  I'm still able to converted my work, but when I open the PDF file, the name you can see in the program is always: Presentation PowerPoint, even if I saved it with another name.

What am I doing wrong???

Solution: prior converting your PPT to PDF, first open up the File Properties of your PPT in your explorer. In Details, change Title to your preferred file name. After that, open PPT, save as PDF and this value will show instead of Presentation PowerPoint.

That depends. Reader isn't creating the file it's just viewing what was created so how exactly are you creating it? If you are using the Microsoft PDF engine then you will need to talk to them. If it's an Adobe product, let us know which on exactly and we'll get you to the right place.

To convert my PPT files, I use the option PDF when I save it.  It worked out well with the school computer, but with my own computer, it shows another name.

For example, I save in PPT a file name SCHOOL TASKS.  In my files it's SCHOOL TASKS.PPTX, but when I open it up, the main name is POWERPOINT PRESENTATION...

If I print lots of these on the school printer, I can't see what exactly I'm printing, because all the files are titled POWERPOINT PRESENTATION...

I just don't get it!!!

What you're seeing is the title of the document, not the file-name. This is something that can be set in Acrobat, but not in Reader.

As mentioned, you're not using Adobe technology to create the file, so you'd be better off asking at a Microsoft forum how to change the document title when exporting from PowerPoint to PDF.

Thanks, I had the same problem. I followed what you recommended and my problem was solved. Under  Properties-Details, I left the "tittle" slot empty. Works fine now.

On the existing document

1. right click select properties

2. Go to Details ( you can't change the title yet😅) so click the blue colored text Removed Properties and Personal Information

3. As another box appears select 'Remove the following properties from this file:'

4.  You can choose the title (if you want to change the title only) or it's up to you if you want to include authors

(This can proceed if the document that ypu want to change title is close if you're actually currently reading it but don't worry the system will remind you)

5. Then redo the first step by clicking the properties and select details click twice the title you can now enter the title you want.

Hi - When you have your PowerPoint open, go to "File" then "Info". There you will be able to amend the properties of the document including the title.

I converted my MS PowrPoint file to .pdf.  However in the Properties section, I noticed that under 'Location', it shows the file path.  For example: C:\Users\MyName\Desktop

I don't want my file path shown since it includes my name.  How can I hide the file path?
