With Reader Pro DC, what would be the syntax to merge two pdf files?

Example:  Shell "Program Files(86)\Reader.exe\" Merge/MyFile1/MyFile2

Where I want to append MyFile2 to MyFile1  Either leaving MyFile1 open or closed

The free Acrobat Reader cannot merge files at all, not by any means, manually or automatically.

The paid-for Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Standard can merge (unprotected unsigned) PDF files.
There is a large programming interface, documented in the Acrobat SDK.The programming interface does not provide command line interfaces, but this can be done with COM from VB.

Download the Acrobat SDK for details. Acrobat SDK forum here: Acrobat SDK

This is not for server use. This is not for use as a background task.

This can't be done using Reader or Acrobat, as mentioned, but it can be done using a custom-made, standalone application.
If you're interested in such an application feel free to contact me privately (try6767 at gmail.com) and we could discuss the details, including the price.
