My PDF page looks like this when I want to copy and paste.
How can I get my PDF page to blue highlight (ie copy and paste) one sentence at a time? It will not let me in this particular pdf file.

If you cannot select individual words or characters, it could be because the pdf is a scanned image. You would need to run Optical Character Recognition on it to make the text selectable. Reader doesn't have that ability.

No, that's not right. Its not a scanned image. The cursor is larger than normal size and I can copy paste but its forcing me to copy paste multiple lines rather than a single line.

I can send you the file so you can see what I mean.

If you post it to a file sharing service like Dropbox or something, I would be glad to take a look but I suspect that if this is specific to this pdf, it could be that the actual font was huge initially and the creator instead of lowering the size of the font used something like superscript or subscript to make it smaller. Reader will size the cursor depending on the actual font size.
So, check a different pdf file (preferably from somewhere other than where you got this one) and if it works fine, more than likely it's an issue with the fonts like I've explained above or similar. Nothing can be done about that with Reader.

Can I email the file to you?

No. I am nowhere that would allow an emailed pdf from a random party (security issues). If you post to a file sharing area, not only can I look at it, others that have experience with this can take a look as well.

I put the file in dropbox, what is your email so I can share with you?

Post the link here if you can. I keep everything on the forums and do not except personal emails.

I can't get in to that either.
Ok, did you try a totally different file? I want you to do that so we can potentially rule out Adobe Reader as the culprit. If other files are fine, it's more than likely an issue with the file itself and you can't fix it.

I have looked at other pdf files in reader and they are ok. The reason I wanted you to review the file I pasted via dropbox was to see if the properties in the file can be changed to work like most pdf files.

Even if Reader could do it, it wouldn't be a change done to the pdf file. It would be a change made to the original file before the pdf was created. The pdf is what it is.

Is there another way to get you the file so you can look at it?

How did you get the file? Did you create it, get it via email or did you download it? If the latter, where did you download it from? Looks like a somewhat official document as far as I can see so it could be available somewhere.
Anyhow, I am out of time for the day. I'll look in tomorrow.

Not sure what to tell you except that the file seems to have some font encoding issues. I could barely load the font types in properties and they're all a custom font type. Exporting to a Word document results in nothing but the images (logo's and such) coming through.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned above, there is nothing to be done in Reader to fix this. Might be something that needs to be fixed in the original document itself before it is turned into a pdf file.

Is it possible to "repair" the font encoding issues in a pdf? If so, how would you go about doing that type of "maintenance?"

Could it be fixed in acrobat?

You may want to ask that in the Acrobat forum.
