Hi Adorobat,
We are experiencing a similar issue with the new release (2015.023.20053). We get the Adobe Reader error 523 when we open embedded pdf files in the internet explorer and try to navigate to another page. The page becomes very unresponsive and slow.
So far we found three workarounds:
1. Uninstall the new version and install the old version 2015.020.20039
2. Disable the "protected mode" in the properties of Adobe Reader
3. Use another web browser
Hopefully that will be fixed in a new version soon since non of those workarounds is a good solution for us.

Hi
I installed the new version 2015.023.20056 and still have the same problem Error 523:523.
I can quickly open a PDF document, but it takes about 15 sekuner to close it.
When I use ver.2015.020.20039 everything works perfectly but the problem is that I can not turn off the automatic upgrade.
Have tried with and without protected mode.
I use Windows 10 64 bit.

Hi
I had help with this problem and it works.
1 Open the registry editor> Create a registry key in HKCU: SOFTWARE\\Adobe\\Acrobat Reader\\EmbeddedPDFFeatTestEx
2 Create a dword in that key with name nEmbeddedPDFFeatTestEx and set its value to 1 and see if problem goes away
3 Set the dword value to 0 and see if the problem comes back.

I'm having the same issue which started with 2015.023.20053 and have since upgraded to 2015.023.20056 and are still experiencing the problem.
@björnm48604619 - do you know what that registry setting accomplishes?

Hi björnm48604619,
Sorry for the delay in response.
Could you please try disabling protected mode and see if that helps:
Launch Reader>click Edit>Preferences>Security(Enhanced)>uncheck the box Enable Protected Mode at startup>OK
Relaunch Reader.
Please note: Disabling Protected is only for the troubleshooting purpose. Please enable the feature after troubleshooting is complete.
Let me know the results.
Thank You,
Shivam
