Can't get rid of Touch to install reader
There is another similar post on the forum but it is inconclusive or doesn't help.
I have a windows 10 PC. I have NOT installed adobe touch. When I click on programs the app is shown and it asks whether I want to install it. To me this indicates that it isn't installed. Also I cannot see an adobe folder in my programs folder. Finally, when I search in settings, adobe reader or reader touch are not in the list.
When I try to install adobe reader from the adobe site it goes through the process and then says that there is already a more up to date version of adobe installed!!!
If there is a more up to date version, where is it and how do I get rid of it?
What I am trying to do is download a document from the UK HMRC website and complete it but when I do this I get the following message:
"Please wait... If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by visiting http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. For more assistance with Adobe Reader visit http://www.adobe.com/support/products/ acrreader.html."
Of course, I do wait but nothing happens and the sites I am directed to are simply generic adobe sites that seem to provide no help.
