Can't Open PDF

I did a trial of Adobe that allowed me to edit/convert PDFs, but cancelled before the trial period was up.  Now when I try to open one of my PDFs, Adobe wants me to sign in and then asks me

Start your 7 day free trial of Acrobat DC.
Start your free trial or   using your Adobe ID.

I then have the option to Quit Adobe DC or Buy at Adobe.com or Start a Free Trial.

When I click on "Quit," it closes my PDF.  How do I stop this from happening so I can just view my PDFs?

Thank you.

You have to pay for Reader also!

Hello @loretta_3971!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

As correctly shared by our community product expert, Acrobat Reader is the free, trusted global standard for viewing, printing, signing, sharing, and annotating PDFs. It's the only PDF viewer that can open and interact with all types of PDF content, including forms and multimedia. And now, it’s connected to Adobe Document Cloud services – so you can work with PDFs on any device, from anywhere. See this article for more details: https://adobe.ly/4koEkKt

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

You need to uninstall Acrobat, and re-associate the PDF files with Reader, if you still have it. If not, you need to install it.

DUH on my part.  🙂  Thank you so much.  That seems to have cleared up the problem.
