Command line syntax "search"

New Here ,
Apr 21, 2017 Apr 21, 2017

Hi,

i was using a script for 2 years now, to open and search a specific text via the command line.

Here the text line : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /A "search=Text you want to search" "Path to the file"

Everything worked just fine until we updated our Reader to the version 2017.009.20044

Since then I can open the Acrobat Reader via command line, but when i enter the search input, the reader doesn't respond anymore.

Have you guys any ideas if the syntax for the search function has changed?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

I have the same problem.  They know about it but won't fix it.  I reported the issue back in May.  I had to poke them multiple times to remind them.

Here is the response from July 27th - We have already logged into the portal to submit the issue.  You may want to do the same.

"I did raise it to my seniors regarding the issue. I would recommend you log this in our wish/bug form for adobe and let our developer know the exact scenario since we here more of deal with Acrobat Pro DC instead of the Reader.

Please fill in the form : http://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html "

I noticed the application does not crash using the command line if you open Adobe first.  Yup, they changed behavior on us.
