PDF Files Don't Appear in My Documents with Adobe Emblem

Why aren't pdf files appearing in my documents with the Adobe emblem (see attachment)? I couldn't open any pdf files so I uninstalled and installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC which was when this began.
