Screen Size is huge when launching Reader and Acrobat

When I open both Reader and Acrobat DC, the size is huge.  It is the only program that displays with an over-sized appearance.  Can someone please tell me how to "shrink" the screen view.  Everything I think might work appears to be "grayed out".
