I cannot highlight text without getting a comment as well, just what to highlight text

I cannot highlight text without getting a comment as well, jus want to highlight text.  I believe a made changes to the comments tool but I cannot figure out what I need to remove to highlight only in Edit PDF

Go to Edit - Preferences - Commenting, and tick off "Automatically open

comment pop-ups for comments other than notes".

Do you mean that the highlighted text is being copied into the comment, or just that there's a comment pop-up balloon?

I have just upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and am having this issue now. It was fine before the upgrade though.

Any ideas on how to fix it?
