I cannot highlight text without getting a comment as well, jus want to highlight text.  I believe a made changes to the comments tool but I cannot figure out what I need to remove to highlight only in Edit PDF

Go to Edit - Preferences - Commenting, and tick off "Automatically open

comment pop-ups for comments other than notes".

I ticked the box in the solution but the comment box still comes up how do I just highlight no comment -

Make sure the option to copy the selected text into the highlight is not ticked, either.

I have just upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and am having this issue now. It was fine before the upgrade though.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Do you mean that the highlighted text is being copied into the comment, or just that there's a comment pop-up balloon?
