Acrobat 9 Pro, downloaded but won't open. Help!

I am using a Mac, OS X El Capitan, 10.11.6.  It appears that the download was successful, so I opened the dmg file and then dragged the Acrobat folder to my applications folder. I opened the Acrobat folder and double clicked on the Acrobat icon, but it doesn't open. The "Read Me" instructions say that a dialogue box is supposed to open so I can accept the license agreement and enter my serial number. But nothing at all happens when I double click on the icon. Save me!

Hi floey1962,

Officially, Acrobat 9 has not been tested on OS 10.11 and is therefore not supported. That said, people have gotten it to work by disabling during installation the Adobe PDF Safari Plugin. Refer to Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro refuses to install on El Ca... |Official Apple Support Communities for more information, including what to do if you already went past the "Install Extras" window you need to access.

Let us know if that does the trick "saving you" of if you need additional assistance.
