Acrobat DC Pro keeps crashing while commenting

I've been using Acrobat DC Pro for two weeks now on Windows 10. The app sometimes crashes while using the strike out and replace tool. It doesn't happen every time I use this tool, but I lose several comments on the PDF file every time Acrobat crashes and I need to restart it. This is pretty annoying! I got in touch with Adobe support here in Brazil, but the agents weren't helpful at all. I'm about to cancel my subscription and go for a free option... I've just lost over 60 comments on the PDF file I was working on. Hope someone can help me.

p.s.: I've already uninstalled the app using the Adobe cleaner and installed Acrobat again. It didn't work.

Hi Vivianek35575920,

Please try these steps and see if any of it works:

  • Firstly, on the document, go to Edit>Preferences>Documents and check mark the option that says 'automatically save document changes' and set the time to 1 minute and hit ok and try to reproduce the issue.
  • Also, try using a different user profile for the same.
  • And try to create a PDF document from Word file and then comment and check for the issue

Let me know if the issue still persists.

Thanks,

Supriya

Hi Supryia

Thanks for your reply. I changed the save preferences to 1 minute, as you suggested. I also created a PDF file from a Word doc and the same issue happened.

I didn't quite understand your second suggestion - "try using a diferente user profile for the same". Could you clarify that?

Tks!

Viviane
