Hi, I have installed Acrobat Pro DC 2019 version 2019.010.20099, when I run the program to open a pdf for the first time, the software open the pdf.

I close it and I open a second time a new pdf, the software does not open the pdf, but it run in the background process Windows because I see it in the tasks panel but it does not open the pdf, is it a bug or an existing update for that or tell me what to do.

I did a little video, I thing the Acrobat don't want to open a second pdf as soon as I go to edit my right tools and you can also the reset my tools when I close the 2 process in the task panel.

    Hi Yapp,

The version 19.012.20040 is not the latest version. Please try to download and install the latest version from here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html

Let us know if the issue persists.

    Regards,

    Meenakshi

    Hi Yapp,

As you recieve the fatal error message, does it appear after updating the applicaton or with the same version as mentioned above?

Please try the troubleshooting steps provided here https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/failed-to-connect-to-dde-server.html

Check if that makes any difference.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Meenakshi

    Hey there!

Thanks for sharing video, it helped understanding the exact issue. As shared, the Acrobat Pro DC you are working on is version 2019.010.20099.

Acrobat and Reader official update (2019.021.20047) is now available. This update will be automatically pushed to all existing installations of Acrobat and Reader. If you want, you may also manually trigger the update early by opening the application and going to Help > Check for Updates>Reboot system
More information about this release is here: Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Try installing the latest patch and see if this changes the application's behavior.

    Thanks,

    Akanchha
