Acrobat Pro X and El Capitan (Mac OS 10.11)

I am running the Public Beta of Mac OS 10.11.    My updated version of Acrobat Pro X works fine until I try to Recognize Text.   It always crashes.   I just wanted to give a notice before El Capitan gets released.

Hi jeffn40071274‌,

Acrobat X is not tested on Mac OS above 10.6.4, please check the system requirements System requirements | Acrobat family of products—older versions (XI, X, 9).

So, its not possible to predict how it will function on not-supported OS version, some features may or may not work as in your case.

I need to be able to use Acrobat Pro 9 to check my newsletter for grayscale.  The newsletter is done in InDesign, and that seems to be working.  What can I do to get Acrobat Pro working again?  Or, is there a program for the Mac that can do this advanced edit?

Since Installing 10.11 El Capitan Acrobat 9 Pro crashes when scanning documents.

Hi jerrymel,

Acrobat 9 won't be compatible with such latest OS version.

Please check the system requirements before installing the application https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-acrobat-family-products.html

Acrobat Pro 9 works with el Capitan beta. Maybe you have your old one or can get one. Acrobat Pro X versions 10.1.15 is the latest, but mine crashes when I try to use comments or other features.

I have noticed that Adobe Acrobat does not recognize Mail 9.  I looked for a beta, but there appears to be none at this time.

Actually,  contrary to what I read here, one can predict how Acrobat works on El Capitan.  Adobe simply has to run Acrobat in the 10.11 OS and see how it operates, and then engineer accordingly to correct the problems.  To admit that no adjustments have been made since 10.6, which is not true, might suggest one move to PDFpro, which has many of the same functions at a fraction of the cost.  Many of the programs I use in Yosemite have managed to address the problems that arose using the new Apple OS and now work fine with the subsequent adjustments the software manufacturer made in its beta products.  See, e.g., Fantastical, Spamsieve, 1password, Lastpass, etc.  Others have at least tried but decided they cannot adjust, and have to be given up.  See, e.g., Totalfinder. (Unsanity gave up with the move to OS 10)

To suggest that a software manufacturer such as Adobe cannot engineer for the new OS, especially one as big as Adobe, until the new OS is released is simple ridiculous.  I have no doubt that Adobe is working on the problem, but may not want to provide a beta.  They should just say so.
