Hello,

when opening a PDF file by double click from a networkshare the follow Error occures: "error opening this document file cannot be found".

If I right-click on the file and click "Edit with Acrobat Pro" in the context-menue, Acrobat is opening the file normaly.

If I'm opening Acrobat and I'm browsing to the file via File->Open-><Path to the file>, Adobe is also able to open the file correctly.

PS: Adobe Reader DC works fine. The isseu only occures with the Acrobat Pro

Does someone have an idea how to fix this?

I have a lot of user on a RDSH Farm who are experiencing this issue.

Thank you in advance

Kind Regards

Hi christophr64448936,

I am sorry for replying so late.

Please try the steps suggested in the following links:

Nobody? I think Adobe has a Problem with the Folder Redirection. Does someone has a hint where I can troubleshoot this issue further?

Thanks

Hi christophr64448936,

Could you please check if both the applications (Reader and Acrobat) aren't running at the same time on the computer.

If yes, try to close one of the application via Task Manager, then open the pdf file and see if the error message still appears.

If that doesn't work, try disabling Protected View, launch Acrobat>click Edit menu>Preferences>under Security(Enhanced)>select Off under Protected View>OK and relaunch Acrobat.

Please note: Disabling Protected View is for troubleshooting purpose only. Please enable the feature when troubleshooting is complete.

Thank You,

Shivam

Hello Shivam,

thank you for your answer. I've already disabled protected mode and reader is installed on the same host but is not running.

Any other suggestions?

Could it be a issue with redirected folders?

Thanks
