Adobe Acrobat Pro DC rendering ArialMT font

We have a PostScript file that has been rendered from a templating tool called Scriptura into a PDF but the font for ArialMT Italic appears a bit weird when rendering the document.

I've checked the "fonts" preferences and I get the below:

Does anyone know why the font appears incorrectly via Reader? Currently using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (Vr 2015.006.30198)
If I use GhostGum (a postscript view tool) it appears correctly

Does it print that way? Does it look the same at different zoom levels?

Printing is the same - prints the way it appears with the wonky text.

Zoom is the same - no difference whether you zoom in or out

You should make sure that the tool you use to create the pdf file is embedding the font information. MT fonts seem to cause lots of issues if that doesn't happen.
