I have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI running on a Windows XP machine but it has stopped working stating that there is a license issue.  Subscription payments of over £15 per month have been taken from my account.  I know that XP is no longer supported but I need to keep it on the PC for other software compatability issues of legacy systems.  Can you confirm that Adobe Acrobat Pro XI should continue to work on a XP box, albeit without support

you have 3 ways to recover a serial number that you once had:

1. if you purchased from or registered with adobe (automatically done with cs6):,

    a. you can check your account, https://accounts.adobe.com

    b. you can check with adobe support* (be prepared to give the email address used when registering purchasing)

2. if your adobe program is installed on another computer you can recover its serial number from that computer, (win:) http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html, (mac:)  https://mac-product-key-finder.com/

3. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html

I use the install ISO cd given in my University as well as the official serial number given in the soft service.

During installation, the setup program asks for the serial number

I write down the one given and setup accepts it and the installation finishes without problem. In the past no new issue appeared and the program worked fine

When I open the Acrobat XI program a warning window tells me that "the serial number is not recognized"; asks me to introduce my serial number again (I rewrite the official SN given by my University) and the warning says again the "this serial number is not recognized"... and so goes on for ever.

I Had to reformat my XP +SP3 and reinstalled the ISO CD.

Any comments?

reinstall

check your Adobe PCD folder and SLStore folders:  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/configuration-error.html for creation date/time

wait a few minutes and open acrobat.

recheck your adobe pcd and slstore folders to see if something (eg, av) removed or changed them after the creation date/time.

if so, something on your computer (eg, av) is causing the problem.

if not, using a browser that allows popups and cookies, contact adobe support during pst business hours by clicking here and, when available, click 'chat', https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
