We have an old software package of "Adobe Acrobat Professional 8" with an original licence key. As we have bought a new pc, we now have to move this software to this new pc. We know, that it is old, but it is still sufficient for us. So we do not want to update it with regard to further costs.
But, it is not possible to get an activation key from Adobe. They say, that they have closed the activation server, that they cannot help and that I shall ask this forum.
Is there any possibility to "bypass" the activation key? Adobe has sent me a link explaining how this is possible for Photoshop:
This is for those who cannot generate a valid serial number over at adobe:
1) Complete installation as usual
2) Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\AMT
3) Delete the file called application.sif
4) Enjoy!
I have tried this in a similar way for Adobe Acrobat, but it did not work.
So every help is very much appreciated!!!

You should be aware, though, that Acrobat 8 is not compatible with any current operating system, so problems are to be expected.

This link is useful until you try to download the new installation dll, which leads to a dead end, software unavailable page.

That's because Adobe stopped offering installers for older versions. Contact Adobe Customer Care directly and ask for one. We can't help you.
