‘Adobe Convert PDF’ plan - Can I Edit Scanned-In Documents With This Plan?

Hello.

I only use a Desktop computer with Windows 10.

I subscribed to the ‘Adobe Convert PDF’ plan on 4 June.    I did this only because one of its listed features claimed that it “makes scanned text editable with Optical Character Recognition (OCR)”.

If this plan really does enable this, does this mean I could scan-in a document and save it as a Word doc.    And then could I make this scanned-in document editable - eg, delete, amend, add-to, or change the typeface, size etc, or highlight text, or even add borders and graphics?

If it does enable this, can anyone give me links to where this plan is actually mentioned on the Adobe website.  And also a link to how one uses this.

All I've got so far is Adobe trying to hard-sell me a more expensive plan, 'Adobe Pro DC', which I do NOT want.

https://acrobat.adobe.com/uk/en/acrobat/export-pdf-online-pricing.html

Is this the same thing as 'ExportPDF' ?

Or is it an updated version of 'Adobe Convert PDF' - or vice-versa?

Might 'ExportPDF'/'Adobe Acrobat ExportPDF' be more relevant to what I want to do - ie to make scanned text editable (with OCR)?

It certainly comes even cheaper than the 'Adobe Convert PDF' at only £1.77 per month.

Adobe like to keep us on our toes by changing names. I see they put a space back into Export PDF. But it’s hard to answer your question because I’ve never seen a product called Adobe Convert PDF. But you even have a price for it, because you say Export PDF is cheaper! So, please link to a discussion of this product (Adobe Convert PDF), and it’s price,  so we can give you accurate advice.

I think the plan you want is called ExportPDF (no space)

Hello Test Screen Name

Many thanks for your reply.   I think ExportPDF is a name I have seen mentioned on the Adobe site.

I'll give that one a try!

Some more replies to my queries:

Dear Catherine,

Please find the answers for your queries :

  1.   If Adobe Convert PDF is the same as Adobe Export PDF, should I actually transfer to Export?   -  Both are same plan, just the name is different.
  2.   Or is it OK to stick with Convert, as I've already bought this?    -   Since you have already brought this, you can stick to your plan.

Something I noticed though - it sounded like that copies of one's uploaded documents were kept 'in the cloud'.

  1.   If this is so, can one opt to not have this?   -  Yes, if you don't want to save the files, you can opt for not having this option, so that your files won't be saved.
