Adobe DC Pro Crashes Every Time I Save a Scanned PDF to DropBox

For quite  some time now I have experienced stability issues with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Pro. There are two issues that I don't believe are related.

I am using an iMac with macOS Catalina v. 10.12.2, and an HP Office Jet Pro 8710.

1. When I scan from within DC I get an error message "Failed to open session on the device (-09921)." That message appears briefly before disappearing. Then the printer dialog box appears and I am able to scan. Ths sutuation first appeared following the upgrade to Catalina from Mojave.

2. The most troublesome issue has been around for a long time. I have sent countless reports to Adobe reporting the problem. When I finishe scanning a document (File - Create -PDF From Scanner) and attempt to save thescan to DropBox the DC application crashes every time. A couple of weeks ago I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it from the Adobe Control Center whereupon I saw some improvement, but not it is back to crashing every time I savw a scan to DropBox.

I hope that there is help out there for theses problems.

Jim

I am also experiencing the same issue whenever I attempt to scan with the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (Version 2020.009.20067):

"Failed to open a session on the device. (-9921)"

I am on Macbook Pro 16 running macOS Catalina 10.15.4, and using the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw.

Appreciate if someone can explain this issue or provide info to resolve this. Thanks.

I don't know. I've been using Adobe Scan with simply my phone ever since.

I have same notice: Failed to open session on the device -9921. I do not have a DropBox issue as I am scanning the pdf file to my Mac or iCloud without any issue. It is that temporary blip of notice that is my only pain. I'd still like the fix for the error as I have to look at that every time I scan.

I have an Epson ET-2750 printer scanner that I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, fully updated, to scan connected by WiFi. My Mac is fully updated too with OS 10.15.3.
