Adobe PDF notes can't be read after latest update

My PC did it's Windows 10 update a few days ago, and now every single one of my 'notes' that I created on dozens of Adobe PDF's are not readable. It's just an icon that cannot be opened. I can create new 'notes', however it does me no good since I can no longer access the information in any of my previous notes.....please help!!

The little orange icon is all that is left of my former 'add a note' notes......when I hover my cursor over it, there is no action that can be taken to actually open that icon.... very frustrating and irritating!!!

Ok, I figured it out......somehow during the update, my default settings for Adobe Reader got changed.

Instead of the Adobe Reader opening my PDF's in the actual reader, the program was using the Microsoft Edge browser to open it instead, thus making my previous notes unable to be opened. I have since changed the default back to opening with the actual Adobe Reader program, and all is returned to normal.

Just in case someone else has this issue, I'll leave this post out here in the event that it might help someone else.

Have a great day!

See this recent discussion about MS's hijacking of the PDF file format to MS Edge.
