Most of the tools that in Acrobat 9 are available under "Tools > Advanced Editing" are available in Acrobat 10 under "Tools > Content".

If you have not noticed, the UI for Acrobat X is very different from Acrobat 9. Click on the "Tools". This will open the "Tools" well and you can then select the "Content" tool.

Thank you - I got this far, it was on trying to edit text I kept getting a message and was told

the way to solve it was through Tools>Advanced Editing - which you don't get on 10.

In fact the issue was the font!! Only lost 2-hours tho, hey what's time for.

In Acrobat X Pro, I ran the full Accessibility Report, and the Structure Errors have a hyperlink to "How to Add Alternate Text," which leads to the "Hints for Repair" section at the very bottom of the report.  It says: To add alternate text to an image, choose Tools > Advanced Editing > TouchUp Object Tool...

The correct menu direction should be: "Choose Tools > Content > Edit Object," then resume the instruction set in the Accessibility report (e.g., Click on the image. Right-click and choose Properties, etc.)
