Question

Batch split/extract all pages

Hi,

Really sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I can't seem to find the answer I need. We have 1000's of multipage PDF's that we are uploading to a new system. As a result, we need to split/extract every individual page from the PDF's into separate PDF files. The multipage PDF's are named with unique product codes so the new single page PDF's would need to retain the original name with an extra number at the end.

I know how to extract all pages by going on the pages tab and manually inputting 'Page 1 - X' and ticking to 'extract pages as a separate file' however I cannot find an action to allow me to do this in batches and also to 'extract all' rather than manually inputting the page numbers as all the multipage PDF's have an inconsistent number of pages!

I have full CC, Acrobat Pro DC and running iOS High Sierra.

Thanks in advance!

That can be done using a custom-made script, if it's possible to correctly identify the code on each page.

I've written many versions of this tool for my clients and would be happy to have a look at some sample pages and let you know if I think it's doable or not, and if so how much it will cost. You can email it to me to try6767 at gmail.com, if you wish.

You definitely need a scripted Action for this. But extracting data from a PDF page is also not a simple thing. Send me a message if you would like an estimate for the work.
