Can't Change Default Printer / Scanner In Acrobat

I have switched printers (Current is epson) - Trying to scan, acrobat is looking for my old printer (Cannon).  Tried to change it in "defaults" but Acrobat printer list only shows my OLD one. Have changed it in Windows 10 options "default.  New printer works fine with ALL other programs. Any Suggestions

Hi Peterbrownell,

As per the description mentioned-above, you are unable to change the default scanner in Acrobat while scanning, is that correct?

Have you tried following the steps given in this link :Change the system default printer

Check if an update available for the scanner.

Also, try rebooting the machine and the scanner if you haven't already and try again.

Could you let us know the version of Acrobat you have on the machine: Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

My windows default scanner is my Epson WF-3640 (see attached) which is the

correct printer / scanner and has worked well for some time. The Adobe

scanner is listed as a a Cannon MX 860 (see attached) which clearly is NOT

my printer. Adobe will not let me change the default. This is the second

serious issue I have had with Adobe Acrobat Standard DC since I bought the

latest version. I will clearly not ever be recommending an Adobe product

to anyone who asks my opinion again. I can't scan anything now !!

I think you tried to email an attachment; we don't see them, so I'm going to guess.

Although a printer and a scanner may be in the same box, to Windows they are two completely different thing. Changing your default printer has no effect on what any software sees as a scanner. To keep things clear imagine you have separate printer and scanner and you need to set each one separately.

Did you install the scanning software for your new Epson? Can you scan with any other app?
