I am unable to print a document double-sided. I have selected the option to print on both sides of paper, I have also selected this option on properties > printing shortcuts.
My default printer is also set to print double-sided and this works with other files such as word etc. (The printer is a HP laser jet pro 400)
As mentioned that you have already changed the preferences during print, I would suggest that you may refer to the help document Print double-sided | Adobe Acrobat, Reader and follow the steps mentioned under it.
