Can't Printscreen and Paste into MS Paint

Dear all,

I have recently been experiencing this problem where I can't use the printscreen button and paste into MS Paint.

For your info, the document I am viewing is not protected/encrypted in any way. I used to be able to printscreen and paste recently I have not been able to.

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Extended

I've read online that this is possible due to a recent Adobe Update. Does anyone know where I can re-enable printscreen for normal documents? I use the printscreen alot and it just does not make any logical sense to disable this function.

Appreciate your kind responses.

Regards

Leong

Ok, very interesting. To be honest I wasn't suggesting it to fix it, because without the plug-ins so many bits of Reader or Acrobat are missing that most people can't work. But if you can, that's great.

What you've proved is that one of your plug-ins is doing this. Unfortunately there are a whole bunch of standard plug-ins which come with Acrobat and Reader, and others which could be added on.

If you feel like going further, please try this. Start Reader or Acrobat WITHOUT the shift, so that Print Screen isn't working. Now, do you see an entry under the Help menu "about third party plug-ins"? If so, please let us know all of the entries you see when you select that.

Under third party plug-ins there is FileOpen Client.

If I go to Edit > Preferences > General and tick Use only certified plug-ins, and restart Adobe it disappears - and the print screen problem is fixed.

You're a genius thanks very much.

Hi Leong,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with Print Screen. Although I am not why this is happening but I can assure you for one thing - No Adobe updates disables any of such features. There must be something else causing this.

If you have Windows 7 try using the snipping tool and check if that is working fine for you.

Can you take print screen of your desktop or any other explorer window?

Also, just go through this forum and check if any of the steps mentioned there works for you.

Feel free to let us know the results.

Dear Sandeep,

I am 100% positive it is Acrobat 9.0.

I am running Windows XP Pro, and I can use Printscreen when Acrobat is not opened. Anytime I use have Acrobat opened the printscreen function is turned off. No combination of keys whatsoever will enable it again. Please help

Are you not even able to use Print Screen when you double click on Acrobat Icon from your desktop (without opening a PDF)?

What is the exact version of Acrobat? Click on Help menu->About Adobe Acrobat 9 and let me know the version.
