Change line thickness for striking out text in PDF

I'm trying to stike out text on one of my pdfs and I can't seem to find how to change the thickness of the line. I googled it but I can't duplicate the action. Any thoughts?  Thank you,

      In theory it is the width property of the Annotation object, but changing that value doesn't seem to make any difference to the appearance of the strike-out line...
