Combining or extracting the attachments in a PDF file

I have a project involving thousands of PDFs, many of which have embedded attachments. (It appears they were created in Outlook with "save as PDF" option).
I need to Bates stamp all PDFs in sequential order WITH the attachments contained in the individual PDF.
For the purposes of this example I have a fictional PDF with the following:
Sample PDF (Consisting of one page)
1st Attachment (PDF file with one page)
2nd Attachment (docx file with one page)
3rd Attachment (jpg with one page)
Doc-1 (Consisting of one page)
Doc-2 (Co
Unfortunately, when I use the Combine Files function, it does not address the embedded attachments. Using my example above, the Combine Files function would only yield the single page in "Sample PDF" but the three additional "pages" from the attachments do not attach.
This is obviously a problem because I would end up with Bates 001 for "Sample PDF" rather than Bates 001-004 (including the attachments).
Given that I have literally thousands of PDFs like this, it is logistically impossible to attempt to extract and add the attachments by hand.
Can anyone assist?
As an alternative, it would be less than ideal, but at least workable if there was some way to force the three attachments to add themselves to the end of the primary PDF document (ie. so I would now have a single PDF with four pages).

This is an interesting task, which I think is doable, but it will require the development of a custom-made script (or some other kind of tool). If you're interested in hiring someone to create it for you (for a fee, of course), feel free to contact me privately via [try6767 at gmail.com] with some sample files, and we'll discuss it further.
