Core DLL Missing / Remcos Rat

Hello,

I'm running Windows 10 with all recent updates.

This evening I started getting and error that Adobe Acrobat DC failed to load Core dll.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the application.  Come to find out that my malware software is finding a remcos rat (backdoor.remcos) associated with the ACE.dll.  Not matter how many times I delete the effected file and reinstall the app, the compromised dll appears.  Any suggestions on a solution?

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

run your antivirus and antimalware software

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

All,

I found out the Acrobat reader core DLL error went away when i left the two boxes on the 1 of the 3 step download checked. Since i had the Google Chrome already installed i was unchecking the install the Google Chrome and the extention. So install as is and let the downloader tell you what is already installed. Don't unckeck anything.

Thank you I just tried this and it worked for me. My Adobe Acrobat Pro DC puked up the ace.dll error yesterday. Not sure if this was related to Malwarebytes or not, so I disabled Malwarebytes
