Hello,

I am investigating a pdf document that was created with a Canon iR-ADV C5235 multifunctional.
The document has a metadata creation date and time 2020-02-21 12:57:21 +01:00.

The document has a metadata modify date and time 2020-02-21 13:20:19 +01:00.

Aperantly the file is modified between those two times, but the metadata don't give me a clue. I only have the pdf-file and no other artifacts to investigate.

Question:

Can I conclude that the file must be openend between creation and last modification within a programm that was able to alter the contents and metadata of the file?

I presume that it has nothing to do with the Canon muiltifunctional scanner that was used to create the file, because of the difference in time (about 23 minutes).

Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Kind regards,

Hans

Was it stored in SharePoint? The version history can help with your query.

Or

Open the file in Acrobat, File > Properties. In the Created and Modified, is there a clue that can help?

It might indicate what software was used to modify

That’s likely but you can’t prove anything. Metadata can be faked in seconds, or apps could be in error.
