Help! How to print to PDF acrobat reader DC

Hi.

I installed on my brother's pc the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC because he needed to send his school's documents in PDF form.

He should be abloe to print to PDF acording to what the adobe webpage says, but when we open from his PC the Microsoft Word file and try to print to PDF there is no Adobe PDF printer or any other option to print to PDF.

Do we need to buy another Acrobat DC Pro License or anything like that in order to let him print?

Sadly our economy can't handle another license (I'm living a daily work life with 0,50 U$D lunch in order to reach the end of the month...) and since I use my google account for work and etc, I can't share it with him to let him print PDFs.

Hi Ferchux,

Sadly, Acrobat Reader cannot help you in your stated plan. Acrobat Reader is intended to provide a "reader" for reading PDF documents. That's why it's free, it has limited features and capabilities. The reason it exists is becaue not all readers are created equal and some do much better than others. Acrobat Reader is excellent. One way to identify an excellent reader is to see how well it lets you fill out a form. You'll find that with Acrobat Reader you will not have any issues but with others you will either have some minor issues or complete failure. With all of this YMMV (your milage may vary).

You do have (at least) two options. One is to get Acrobat Pro DC (or if you are on Windows you could also get Acrobat Standard DC, but please do look at the features of each and make sure that you get the one that has the features you need). Alternatively you can use your operating system's PDF genearation. You can find this (for example, on the Mac if you start up the Print dialog, in the bottom left corner you'll see "PDF" which leads to a dropdown menu and one of the top options is "Print to PDF..."*). This can do a perfectly acceptable job or one that is less so depending on the complexity of the page. [Forgive me, as a Mac user I cannot guide you to where/how you find this on a PC.]
