Question

How to allow "Page Extraction"?

Hello together,

my Pdf has different access rights, when opend in Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat and I want to fix this.

Adobe Reader shows:

Security Method: No Security

Document Assembly: Not allowed

Page Extraction: Not allowed

everything else: Allowed

Adobe Acrobat shows:

Security Method: No Security

Every option: Allowed

I would like to save/modify the file in a way that the pdf file is completely unlocked afterwards.

I already tried around with enabling protection, saving, disabling protection, but the page extraction flag was not changed in Acrobat Reader.

Adobe Reader can't extract pages. Use Adobe Acrobat for this.

Thanks for the hint!

I knew that already but it helped me to find the real reason.

I normally use pdf-toolkit for splitting/joining PDF files in batch-processing, and with the given pdf's it wasn't working.

So it looked like a pdf-security topic. But no, it was a windows access-rights problem. And not a file-based problem, it was a folder-based rights problem.

Thanks, problem solved.
