insufficient data for an image

I just recently stated getting this message whenever I open a Adobe file.  I am using pro version 9.5.2.   I can view the file but it is very blurry.   If I optimize the file or reduce the size it corrects the problem.  Any ideas?

Acrobat engineering would like to inform users facing this issue that the latest Reader XI release (available for download from http://get.adobe.com/reader) fixes this problem. Users are requested to download the latest version at the earliest to avoid encountering this error going forward. As mentioned earlier, the team is working actively towards fixing the problem in earlier versions (10.x and 9.x) as well and expects to deliver a solution by Q1 2013. As of 10/16/14, I am getting a "The document could not be saved. Insufficient data for an image" after I combine the files and then save it.  I downloaded the latest version of Acrobat Pro X1.  Is there any updates?

There are many causes of this, so it's impossible to say if there is a specific solution. Perhaps you can share a file publicly for us to examine. In fact "before" and "after" files. You cannot post files in the forum, however.

The issue is NOT fixed in 11.0.5! That was a lie!!!

Try this f.ex.

Maybe, maybe not, but you seem awfully sure. Such is your rudeness I don't feel inclined to spend a second more looking at it.

Hi jenni_aji

Adobe has addressed this issue in Adobe Reader X1.

Can you please share with any PDF with which you are facinh this issue.

Also can you please share your OS, browser and full Adobe Reader version.

Thanks,

Nikhil Gupta

Hi Nikhil

I cannot share the PDF as it is confidential.

Windows XP professional V2002 SP 3

Browser is Internet Explorer

Adobe Reader XI

I faced the below issues with Adobe Reader XI.

1. Enable protected mode at startup - checked with Disable selected - With this Save As option was creating a blank copy. Source file is in a shared folder and destination file in a local folder.

2. For Issue 1, I changed to Enable protected mode at startup - checked with All Files

3. After this if I do Save As, copy getting created cannot be accessed from Internet Explorer. Error "the current security settings do not allow you to download this file" is thrown.

4. So I unchecked "Enable Enhanced Security"

5. Then while saving I got the errors:
