New PDF with Mixed Paper Sizes

We often assemble files with mixed paper sizes ranging from letter to 30x42 large format.  We then make notes on the sheets, and before distributing, we "print-to-PDF" to generate a new, uneditable document.  If the file has letter and tabloid sizes mixed, Adobe handles fine.  But if there is even one large format sheet, Adobe prints that as letter size, cutting off the rest of the information on the sheet.  How to we print mixed sheet size documents without breaking them apart into regular format vs. large format sheets?

I would create individual PDF files from the original files making sure that I am creating the PDF with the same paper size for the output as the input document. I would then use Acrobat to  combine the individual PDFs into one PDF. This will require that you make sure you have custom and standard paper sizes that match your input files.

Unfortunately, that is what we have been doing.  It can take a lot of unnecessary time to break the file apart, print each section, and then recombine.  It seems that if Acrobat can handle letter and tabloid sizes in the same file with no problem, it should be able to handle any size sheet in the same file.
