Question

PDF links don't work when you move the files.

I created an extensive songbook over the last year and linked each song file to and from the index file. when I copy the folder to my tablet fron my PC, or put it in Dropbox or Google Drive the links don't work. because the link path is still back to my C drive. Is there a way of batch editing these links or is there a way of getting this to work. The original folder of songs took hundreds of hours to create and the links work perfectly, as you  can imagine my frustration when the links failed to alter when the entire folder was relocated to my tablet. Please help?

Links to local files don't work on mobile device, nor when the files are hosted online (on a "cloud").

If you want them to work then you need to either attach the linked-to files to the PDF itself (might not still work on mobile devices, though), or place them on a web-server and convert the links to open a URL instead of a file.

Both of these changes requires a complex tool to implement. I have developed similar tools for my clients in the past so if you're interested in purchasing such a tool feel free to contact me privately via [try6767 at gmail.com] and we could discuss these options further.

Thanks for your reply, I created links, also a pdf binder, and set up bookmarks from index to song pages and back. I put all the necessary files in one folder on a USB so all file paths were as they should be. when the folder was copied to the android tablet the links definitely failed even though the pointer appeared on the index file demonstrating there is a link there, but it doesn't finish the job, However with the bookmark attempt it worked on the android, but strangely not for all the pages, I am still solving that issue. I think it is a shame that such an expensive purchase Adobe suite (Pro XI) fails to complete such a task on demand. Maybe they will put their mouth where their money is. Again, kind regards, Merry Christmas and thanks.

It is not a issue of Acrobat XI.
