Text Box Padding

Is there a way to decrease the text box padding. If I choose no border line, the padding is reduced to nothing. However, with a line, even .5, there is much more padding between the text and the border than I want. I would like the border to be tighter to the text.
I am using the latest Acrobat DC in CC on Windows 10.
thanks,
Mike

Hi rinconmike,
In text box properties, .5 is the lowest available value.
However you can try once changing the alignment of text to justify. Check if that resolves your issue.

It does not. There is just too much space between the text and the text box border. If you deleted the border, the text goes to the edge of the box.

Yes we are experiencing these larger padding issues on text boxes as well. Acrobat DC (and previous versions of Acrobat) used to allow getting the text box border tighter to the text, which leads me to believe that an update has caused this?
This is quite important to us because we are often adding clarifying text boxes to our documents, and often we have to squeeze these notes into areas where we want to make sure to not block other important text.
Here is an example of a good text box, which I created June 29, 2016. You can see that the border is nice and tight to the text:
Here is an example of a text box I'm creating today, with the same font, font size and text:
If I try to pull the box in closer, it clips the text off with white, even if I have the fill color of the text box set to 'none' as I show below:
It seems as though a white padding value has been introduced into the text boxes that didn't used to be there?. I am requesting a fix to get this behavior back as it was before?
As I said, this hinders our ability to clearly mark up our documents without blocking out other important information..
I am using Acrobat DC with Windows 7 (64-bit).
Thank you,
Brian

I wish they would fix this. Funny thing is if I open a pdf where I commented on with a old version of acrobat, the padding looks fine. However, if you edit it with DC, the padding gets huge again and covers the text like you show above.

What version of Adobe Acrobat?

I am using acrobat DC 2015 Release (Classic) | Version 2015.006.30201
I am running Windows 7.
Is there any action being undertaken on this? Otherwise I will have to uninstall / reinstall again, being sure to shut off automatic updates because this is a new behavior that did not exist before and as I explained above this new padding is forcing me to block out other important info on the documents, I have less ability to squeeze text boxes into smaller areas..

I'm in the same boat. I called Adobe tech support and they claim that it's never been like that and have no idea what is occurring.
Here is my post on it with no help
Re: Adobe Acrobat Pro DC - Textbox not formatting properly! (Tech support is stumped!)
I have to flip between Foxit Reader to do any textbox edits.

For those who would like to see this addressed, it's a good idea to submit a bug report. Posting issues here might get the attention of someone who can see that they get addressed, but it's certainly no guarantee.
Here's a link where you can submit bugs: Feature Request/Bug Report Form

I am baffled that Adobe refuses to fix this. Bluebeam is looking much better. Just need to get use to it.

Have you submitted a bug report?

George, it looks as though a couple different people here have talked to tech support and have gotten no favorable response. I just submitted a bug report per your suggestion and will see what happens (i had thought that posting on this forum was the way to report bugs, but apparently not).
Here is the content they put up once I submitted the bug:
Due to the volume of submissions we receive, responses to inquiries are generally not possible. However, we may contact you if we need clarification on your submission.
So I'll see if I hear anything...based on what others are saying here I am not holding out great hope..
It was a DC update that caused this behavior, because my initial install of Acrobat DC did not behave like this, the most recent DC update (or possibly a Windows update?) has caused this...
I may once again uninstall and re-install Acrobat DC (which I had just done due to the breaking of 'Ctrl-E' to access text properties, and which they did fix). Once I installed their patch however, the text boxes suddenly now have all this padding which prompted my comment on this post...

You often don't hear back after submitting a bug report, but it does get the issue into the system. I've been told many times that if it's not in the system, it can't/won't get fixed. Posting here or talking to tech support might result in a bug report being submitted by someone at Adobe, but you cannot count on it.

Hi, I'm going to bump this thread, since I see I'm getting messages from my taskbar popups that Acrobat DC has a new update available. (I have Automatic updates shut off). Does anyone know whether the latest update has addressed this text box cell padding issue discussed in this thread?
I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat DC so I'm at the base version, because the later updates created this text box cell padding issue (described above in this thread), which is a serious problem for me. But I'm curious if anyone knows whether this latest update has resolved this?
The other issue I'm having (which is off topic) is where Acrobat will often not print if I have multiple pdfs open, so I have to close all pdfs, then open the one i want to print, then print it. This does not help my productivity any, and it irks me greatly, but I'm living with it because the text box issue is the bigger issue for me..
Thanks for any knowledge that anyone may have on this? I'm hesitant to install the latest update until I know whether it addresses this cell padding issue..

Hello,
Bumping this thread again, since I am still wondering if Acrobat has addressed this issue of cell padding in text boxes?

For the most part this is a User 2 User forum and there are very few Adobe employees responding here. When they do post they are clearly identified as an employee.
Most respondents will not know the status of this issue. We do know that unless the issue is causing Acrobat/Reader to fail, it will take several months to get changed.
As noted it is best to submit and keep submitting a feature request. The more request that pile up or come in will make the powers that be see how important this issue is.
