Trial version of Acrobat 2017 Pro?

Hello,

I would like to download a trial version of Acrobat 2017 Pro but all I can find is a trial version of DC.  Is a trial version available?  Despite all the bad reviews I've seen regarding Acrobat 2017 Pro I'll probably end up getting it anyway simply to try to eliminate some compatibility issues I seem to be having with my current Acrobat X Pro version when using it with Office 2019.  One of these issues is the inability to incorporate a PDF Maker link into Word 2019's File menu for Acrobat X Pro.  However, on the Adobe webpage where they list which versions of Acrobat are compatible with other products, Office 2019 is not even mentioned.  Is Acrobat 2017 Pro compatible with Office 2019 or will still I end up with compatibility issues? Finally, are there any plans to eventually have a newer perpetual version of Acrobat 2017 Pro, like maybe v2019, v2020, or whatever?

Thanks,

Ray

click dc>2017 below.

note: newer os'es (especially mac os'es) are not compatible with older programs (especially adobe's).  this may help you start your installation, https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/macos-high-sierra-compatibility.html that said, you can download the installation files using the below link.

Single user licensee downloadable installation files available:

Updates

  • Download and installation help for Adobe links

  • Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3 which also apply to eLearning Sute 2.5.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

And a big thank you to Jim @ Prodesigntools for helping me with these links!

It seems very unlikely that Acrobat 2017, frozen in 2017, would be compatible with an Office released in 2018 or 2019. To stay up to date, you need a subscription.

Test Screen Name,

Thank you for responding, but I'm sorry, I don't consider "seeming very unlikely" to be a meaningful answer.  There are plenty of applications of all kinds that are compatible with other applications produced a few years later.  The bottom line for me is that I hate to spend a one time $119 for a perpetual license for "Acrobat Pro 2017 Student and Teacher Edition" without testing my concerns with a trail version first.  For my purposes paying the ridiculous price Adobe is asking for a yearly DC subscription is totally out of the question, especially considering the variety of products in an Office 365 subscription that are available totally legally for less than $80/year.  The only things I want Acrobat for are the convenience of having its PDF Maker integrated into Microsoft's Office products as well as doing some elementary markups, the latter of which the free Acrobat Reader can already do.  I realize that the Office products can produce PDFs directly but those produced by PDF Maker are much smaller, which I like.  Beyond that I don't care anything about any other bells and whistles.

Perhaps I should give more background. History has shown that EVERY version of Acrobat ever released was incompatible with EVERY new version of Office, partly because each new version of Office installed to a new and (previously) unknown folder. Sometimes copying the file might work, but there have also been many technical changes over the years so I am not optimistic.

If you buy Acrobat 2017 it's important to realize you are buying software that is obsolescent BY DESIGN from the day after it was made because Adobe strongly favour their subscription service.

If, as you say, Adobe's web page for compatibility info isn't updated, then our only reliable source isn't much good.
