i am on lion 10.7.4 with an HP 8600 and i am getting errors in my print queu when i try to print pdf's. these say "unable to convert postscript file".

when i open these pdf's in Preview, they print just fine.

i also have a Epson printer but i have not tried isolating this down to a problem related to the HP as of yet.

that said, it is a pain and i would like to fix it.

TIA

Here's what I did for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 that works but is a PIA (pain in the ____)

File > Print > Advanced > OK > Print

Not sure why this works but it does.  It now prints files and pages from files that used to give the "unable to convert postscript file" message

You can try to remove your printer and re-install or you can try to reset your printer subsystem (this will remove every printer from your computer system).
