Question

Unable to start correctly (0xc000022)

For the past several days, I have received the following Windows - Application Error when I open an Acrobat document, "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000022). Click OK to close the application."  I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017.  I have called and received tech support from Adobe several times and have wasted several hours with this.  Tech support reinstalled my product, ran the Microsoft Distiller C++… programs, turned off other programs from the start menu.    Nothing has worked.  Surely I am not the only person who is having this problem, but tech support has been completely unable to fix it.  What do you suggest?

Hi JeremyZollinger,

As you get the error message "The application was unable to start correctly", try the troubleshooting steps mentioned here Application unable to Start correctly 0xc0000022 || 0x00000022.

Check if that makes any difference.

If the steps provided above does not help, try different solution provided in this forum thread unable to start correctly (0xc0000022) with a similar issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Please let us know if the issue still persists.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Hello, Meenakshi.

The troubleshooting steps in the linked article have been tried by me and multiple Adobe tech support personnel.  They have not worked.

I cannot use the solution marked in the linked thread.  When I right click on my Acrobat 2017 pro icon, click on properties and select the compatibility tab, Windows 10 is NOT listed.   Is this the problem?  My Acrobat 2017 pro is incompatible with Windows 10?  If so, why did I just begin having this problem last week?  I've had Acrobat 2017 pro on this Windows 10 computer for many months.
