Update Failed error 1406 for updating Acrobat 10 Pro to 9.5.5

I have tried numerous times to install the update to Acrobat 9.2.0 that brings it to 9.5.5.  I keep getting error 1406: Could not write value DisableExceptionChainValidation to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\Acrobat.exe. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

I have not been able to find this key.

    Hi Chzuck,

Welcome to the new community, as described above you are getting update fail error 1406, correct?

Adobe Acrobat 9 is a old version and end of support product, the activation server, security patches and new updates are no longer available. For more information about the end of support products please refer to the help article  - https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/end-support-acrobat-8-reader.html

    Thanks

    Amal

Yes, I realize it is old and not supported. It is still a great program and meets my needs very well. As an individual using your product for personal use there is no way I can afford to update to the latest and greatest versions of every program I use. I was hoping since this is a community forum there would be someone who had encountered and solved this issue. I am currently trying to update by individual updates and that allows me to ignore that warning and installs the update.
