FOR A THOROUGH & PRECISE EXPLANATION Of How To Update Acrobat 9.0 to 9.5.5 with plenty of helpful links, I strongly recommend visiting:  Where are my Adobe Acrobat 9 Updates??? - KHKonsulting LLC

Please note that the best information is found in the blog article's Comments section.

Acrobat 9 Pro Extended Updates (as of 3/2/16) are downloaded here:  Adobe - Acrobat 9 Pro Extended : For Windows

Acrobat 9 Standard & Pro Updates from:  ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/9.x/

Full version Acrobat 9.0.0 Standard & Pro:  Download Adobe Acrobat products | 9, 8

Be careful to download the correct update versions for particular language 'tiers' and OS types (Windows or Mac).

For example, Tier 1 updates are English.  See About Language Tiers & Update versions:   https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/language.html

You cannot update directly from 9.0 to 9.5.5.  You must update the series of updates in order...though some minor versions can be skipped.

The sequence you need to use to upgrade from 9.0 to 9.5.5 is:  9.1.0 > 9.1.2 > 9.2.0 > 9.3.0 > 9.3.2 > 9.3.3 > 9.4.0 > 9.4.2 > 9.4.5 > 9.4.6 > 9.5.0 > 9.5.1 > 9.5.2 > 9.5.3 > 9.5.5

If you are reinstalling Acrobat 9, you should use Adobe's Acrobat 9 Clean Up Utility to remove all traces of the previous installation:  Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Once you acquire the mandatory collection of Acrobat 9 updates, you might consider creating your own 'slipstream' version of Acrobat 9 that includes all updates up to v9.5.5...that is burnt to a CD as an installation disc for full Acrobat 9.5.5.  See this article:  How to create an Acrobat 9.x.n Admin Install Point (AIP) – integrate MSP patches to a MSI installer

Lastly, patience is essential to success.

Once you have Adobe Pro 9.0 installed from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-8-9-product-downloads.html

next goto

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/9.x/

and download and install the update to 9.1>9.1.2>9.2. Now you can do check for updates and it will get you the 9.5.5

Gotta try this! That DC beast is worse than Acrobat XI! My 9.5.5 died when my HD self destructed. I really need to get my 9.5.5 pro extended back.

We also wanted 9.5.5 but already had 9.0.0 installed; you have a couple options:  1)  Update, patch | Acrobat, Reader 7.x - 9.x | Windows  or 2) Use a program like Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once to do the update for you.

That is the location to download Adobe Acrobat 8 and 9 PROFESSIONAL.

This is similar to my issue.  We want to install 9 STANDARD and bring it to version 9.5.5

In fact, we have installed version 9 but it is 9.0 and I need 9.5.5.

Thanks

I would add that using the "update" feature does not return any results.

In my case it would have been preferable to be able to download and install a version 9.5.5. especially since 9.0 had so many issues at release.

This link is garbage. Just post a direct link for older versions like all other companies. Not a stupid search forum

Try http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html. Be sure to make a backup of the download for the future. The download will likely be 9.0 and you will have to apply the updates. The updates have to be applied in order, but you typically only have to reboot after the last updates (saves a lot of time).
