The position is complicated, but the answer is correct for Acrobat Standard.
There are
1. Windows and Mac apps: Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Standard (not Mac), Acrobat Pro. Subscriber or perpetual licenses available, with different features and upgrade rules.
2. iOS and Android apps including Acrobat Reader (mobile version). Some Chromebooks run some Android apps.
3. Online services. These are available directly in a browser or in some cases out of Acrobat Reader (Windows, Mac or mobile). These are only available to subscribers, not with perpetual licenses. One of these is the PDF creator and merger "Adobe PDF Pack".

yes.
chromebook does not have a full os so you cannot install programs that use a full operating system. chromebook is meant to use with online services and you can use adobe's pdf services with a chromebook.

You can't use any Windows or Mac software with a Chromebook. Look closely at the things you want to do before you buy (as you are, of course, but make sure you don't overlook anything you want to do today or tomorrow).

Thank you for your answer. I understand that, but there are numerous app and web-based versions of popular programs that can be used on the Pixelbook and newer Chromebooks. You answer assumes that I know that Acrobat is only a Windows or Mac software and that no app or web-based version exists. That is the information being sought by my questioning.
