Windows 10 denying installation of Acrobat X Pro

New Here ,
Jun 25, 2018 Jun 25, 2018

I am trying to load Acrobat X Pro from a CD to a new computer (Windows 10). When doing this I get the following response:

A PRODUCT WITH BETTER FUNCTIONALITY HAS BEEN DETECTED ON THE COMPUTER. THIS INSTALLATION WILL BE TERMINATED.

In other words Windows 10 is preventing me using an Adobe product in favour of its own (Edge). Is this known to Adobe?

Best regards

Hallo, looked at the link. This is not a Creative Suite version – this is a stand-alone "CD". What I know I have no other Acrobat installed on my computer unless it is included in other Adobe tools. This could be related to the latest Windows-update that, among other things, prevents printing from FrameMaker.

Thanks so far!

Could you check if Acrobat Reader DC is installed on the machine by right-clicking Start menu > Apps & Features. If it is, select Acrobat Reader > click Uninstall and try the installation again.

The Adobe PDF Creation Add-On XI is installed. Do not know where that came from.

It seems its related to Frame maker: Configure the Adobe PDF Creation Add-on installed with FrameMaker 8. Try uninstalling it, reboot the machine and then try installing Acrobat X.

2- Select Adobe PDF > right-click > Remove device

3- Reboot the machine and try again.

Acrobat X is not compatible with Windows 10. Problems with it are to be expected.

LATEST

Has this to do with the latest Windows update where it does not print FrameMaker documents?
