Hi JC,

Sorry for the delayed response.

As per the issue description mentioned above, you are getting error when trying to print to Adobe pdf in Word, is that correct?

As Acrobat X is not compatible with Mac OS High Sierra, problems are to be expected. Refer to the following help document for the same:

Adobe Acrobat system requirements

You may try resetting preferences for Acrobat using the steps given in this link: How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.  reboot the machine after rese

Hi johnm82926422,

Glad to hear that you're taking Acrobat DC for a spin! How are you creating the PDF? Are you creating it directly from Acrobat by choosing File > Create > PDF from File?

Best,

Sara

Hi,

I have tried every way that the program offers to convert a docx to a pdf.

The menu options, command buttons and even the print option, which is not an option like in my prior installs of Acrobat.

I did not have any issues installing the program, but if feels like it is not properly installed.

I work in IT and wanted to test the product before we look to upgrade.

Thank you.

When I try to create a PDF it says: Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files.  When I run the installer in repair mode it does not resolve this issue.

Hi John,

Are you on Mac OS or Windows? If you're using Mac OS, do you happen to have an older version of Acrobat installed concurrently with Acrobat DC?

Hi, Windows 7, Office 2010.

Have never had any issues with prior versions of Acrobat or Reader.

Just tried a fresh download and install but still can not create a PDF from a Word docx.

And the Print to Adobe option is not available as a print option.

Thanks,

John

Hi johnm82926422,

I need to know certain things in order to assist you more accurately...!!

  • Are you using 64bit version of office 2010?
  • Are you able to convert any other file type into pdf format?
  • Also, Do you see any 'convert to Adobe pdf' option when you right click a .docx file?

Regards,

Rahul

Hi John,

I would recommend you to install 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) ' using the following Link : Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) from Official Microsoft Download Ce...‌ and let me know if that helps to resolve this issue!!

Hi Adobe tech team,

I have the same issue suddenly arise. I can't print to pdf from Word docX. There is no error, just that nothing happens.

I tried first opening Acrobat X version 10.1.16 and then File > Create > PDF from File only to get the following error:

"Acrobat could not open 'lettertoeditor.docx' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF."

Finally, I tried to save the Word file as a .doc file and got the following error (I have nearly 2 TB free on my newly installed SSD):

"The save failed due to out of memory or disk space"

How can I save to PDF?

Thanks

JC
