Help - ALL my Powerpoint files with extension .ppt have all been converted to pdfs.

The default programme to open them is saying Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - or choose an app.

I want them to open in Powerpoint, like they used to but it won't give me this option.

Please help!

    Hi Susanw36668766,

As explained above, it seems like Acrobat Reader DC has been set has default application to open all the files on your system.

I assume you are working on windows 10.

    • Right click on any .ppt file
    • Choose Open With
    • Choose another app
    • Select the app you want to set as default and check the box "Use this app to open .ppt files"
    • Press OK

All of your .ppt file now will be open through the power point.

Let us know if it doesn't work.

    Regards,

Thank you so much for your answer but doesn't work. Yes.. Windows 10. But

doesn't give me PowerPoint as an alternative app either there or when I

    search for Apps in store.

Hope you have checked the "More Apps" as well?

If yes, and still cant find then try this-

    • Go to Click on Windows icon> Search Settings> System> Default Apps (at the left menu bar)

    • Choose default Apps by file types.
    • Scroll down the page at the very bottom and file ".pptx" or ".ppt" file extension form the left menu bar.

    • Click on "Power Point 2016" the a ox will be highlighted at the right hand side as shown above.
    • "Choose an app" >"Power Point 2016"> will be done.
    • Now check the .ppt or .pptx file

    It should definitely work.
